Advanced Electrical Components are the sort of material you don't think much about at first, then suddenly you're short on them all the time. Once your crafting bench starts asking for better electronics, stealth gear, and stronger modules, these parts become a real bottleneck. They sit right in the middle of progression: not as basic as wires, but not so rare that you should treat them like museum pieces. If you're planning builds, checking recipes, or comparing ARC Raiders BluePrints before a raid, it's worth keeping these components in mind early rather than scrambling for them later.
Why These Components Matter
Advanced Electrical Components are basically upgraded electronic parts made from cleaner circuitry, wiring, and recovered tech. In practical terms, they let you craft gear that changes how you play. Need better combat modules? You'll probably need them. Want a stealth tool or a handy utility item? Same story. They're also useful because they don't lock you into one path. A cautious player, a loot-focused player, and someone who likes loud fights can all burn through these parts fast. That's why experienced raiders tend to stash them instead of recycling them the second they run low on something else.
Where You Should Look First
The best places to search are areas that look like they once powered something important. Generator rooms, industrial sites, electrical yards, machine-heavy buildings, and old tech ruins are all good bets. Don't just open the obvious crates either. Check shelves, broken equipment, panels, and corners around workstations. The catch is simple: these zones are rarely quiet. ARC patrols often drift near valuable tech, and other players may be thinking the same thing you are. Go in light if you're farming, or bring enough firepower to leave safely when things turn ugly.
Crafting Them Yourself
If you don't want to rely on luck, crafting is the cleaner route. Once you've got access to a Level II Refiner, you can turn lower-tier parts into Advanced Electrical Components. The recipe is straightforward: 3 Wires and 2 Electrical Components. That's not a painful cost, especially if you've been looting electronics instead of ignoring them. It also gives value to small items that might feel boring during a raid. A pocket full of wires doesn't look exciting, but back at base it can turn into the exact part needed for your next serious upgrade.
Gear That Uses Them
A lot of useful items lean on Advanced Electrical Components. Raider Hatch Keys are a good example, since they can open access to hidden spaces and extra loot. Power Rods also need them and often feed into more advanced crafting chains. Then there's the Snap Hook, which is great when movement matters and you need to get out of a bad spot fast. The Photoelectric Cloak is another big one, especially for players who'd rather slip past trouble than start every fight. Combat Mk. 3, Tactical Mk. 3, and Looting Mk. 3 modules can also require them, depending on the version you're building.
Final Thoughts
Don't treat Advanced Electrical Components like random junk. They're one of those materials that quietly decides whether your next upgrade happens today or three raids from now. Farm electrical zones when the route is safe, recycle only when you're sure, and keep your Refiner upgraded so you can craft them on demand. Some players also use trading options or buy ARC Raiders Trinkets to round out their supplies, but smart looting still does most of the work. Keep a small reserve, and future crafting will feel a lot less annoying.
